Lorenzo Ferrero is a Grammy-nominated and Latin Grammy-winning saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator. He is a true musical chameleon, with a mastery of a wide range of styles, including jazz, Latin jazz, funk, and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. His music is both innovative and accessible, and he has a unique ability to connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2016, Lorenzo has continued to work and perform alongside some of the most talented in the entertainment business. He has recorded and written music for many TV shows and movies, including Detroit (2017), Ola de Crimenes (2018), and Mala Fortuna (2023). He is also the leader of the band “Lorenzo Ferrero and The Collective”, a versatile ensemble featuring his original music (Jazz, Latin jazz, funk) where he tours the world with. Lorenzo has several albums available (from all types of ensembles, including a big band album with Audio Network and a duo album). He is also becoming one of the most influential saxophone players in social media.

In addition to his work as a performer, arranger, and educator, Lorenzo is also the co-founder and director of The Afro Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, a 22-piece big band that blends Afro Peruvian rhythms and culture with traditional big band music style. The band has performed at several jazz festivals in the US, and their last album “Tradiciones” was nominated for the Latin Grammys 2020 for best jazz album, and Lorenzo’s arrangement of “La Flor De La Canela” won the award for Best Arrangement.

Lorenzo is passionate about giving back to his community and sharing his knowledge with younger students. He is the founder of Tonealley Academy, an online education site that contains more than 5 published educational books, exercises, and online courses reaching musicians all around the world. He has also imparted several clinics at major universities across Peru and the US.

Lorenzo is a rising star in the world of music, and his future is limitless. He is a true visionary, and his work is helping to shape the future of jazz and Afro-Peruvian music.
