DARRYL CARRIERE – Born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, Darryl started playing harmonica at the age of 12 influenced by his school friend Lester Butler, who later became a world-renowned blues artist. One day Darryl heard Lester blowing his blues harp in the hallways and that sound completely captivated him and he was hooked for life. A self-taught musician, Darryl started playing the instrument upside down and when he realized that it was too late and that’s how he developed his playing. At the age of 16, he joined The Soultones and played in that band for many years.
In 1997 he met young Brazilian guitarist Celso Salim, they connected right away and formed “The Green Lizards”, a blues band with Darryl debuting as lead singer. A few years later, Darryl contributed on Celso’s first solo album as songwriter and recording vocals & harmonica. He also toured Brazil with Celso in 2004 and recorded on many of his albums.

Darryl is also the leader of the PCH Band, which features legendary drummer Gary Mallaber (Van Morisson, Steve Miller Band), bassist Ralph Carter (Eddie Money). With the Celso Salim Band at the International Blues Challenge 2019, Darryl won the Lee Oskar Harmonica Award as best harp player of the year.

CELSO SALIM – Based in Los Angeles since 2014, Brazilian guitarist & singer Celso Salim has become one of the busiest and most respected guitarists in Southern California. Celso has won five Independent Music Awards including Best Blues Album and finished 3rd place at the 2019 Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge.
Celso started playing at the age of 6 and by the age of 12 he was listening to his first Blues records, which changed his life forever. By the age of 15 he was already playing professionally in his hometown Brasília and after finishing school Celso moved to the US where he spent 3 years studying and playing music. During that time that he met Darryl and since then they have been making music together.

In Brazil, Celso has built a solid career, releasing 5 solo albums since 2001 and working with several artists including Ari Borger Quartet and Sergio Duarte Blues Band.
