Pianist/composer Bevan Manson has performed with Jimmy Guiffre, Ron Jones L.A. Big Band, Tierney Sutton, Cecil McBee, Gunther Schuller, and many others. The Quartet will be featuring music from his latest 2 CD’s When The Cup Is Lifted and Talking To Trees, the latter which was recently featured on NPR’s JazzInspired show. The Jazz Page called Talking To Trees ‘a beautifully crafted album of jazz and classical elements paying homage to the natural world’. The Boston Globe has called him ‘a unique jazz pianist’. Suzanne has performed and/or recorded with Steve Wilson, John Patitucci, Jeremy Pelt, Dave Liebman, Harvie S, Shunzo Ohno, Buster Williams, Mike Clark, and Jack Walrath. Suzanne has been recognized for her musicianship and improvisational skills, called by All About Jazz “More than just a singer, Suzanne Pittson is a jazz musician. With a fluid phrasing and stunning tone, Pittson uses her voice as another instrument, improvising and playing with the melodies.” Bevan arranged and conducted the recent orchestration single Out Of The Hub featuring Suzanne. Bassist Mike Gurrola’s resume includes playing with and/or recording with Mary Stallings, Jeff Hamilton, Houston Person, Benny Green, Larry Goldings, Willie Jones III, Harry Allen, Jane Monheit, Kenny Burrell and many more. Drummer Ben Scholz has had the opportunity to work with Aaron Neville, Roy Hargrove, and Bill Watrous. Ben frequently works in television and has appeared on MTV, WGN-9 and at Second City. Currently, Ben is set to release “Shiny Metal Objects” the first album with his jazz-fusion group The Elec Tet, featuring guitar phenomenon Oz Noy.
